Queen Elizabeth 2023 Scholarship for Early Career Women from Africa -Carleton University

As the first cohort of the Carleton University Queen Elizabeth Scholarship for Advanced Scholars from West Africa (QES-AS-WA) wraps up, we are delighted to announce the second and final call for applications for the second cohort scheduled for 2023-24. The program Wurin ta na yin rubutu – Her own room to write, which runs until October 2024, is open to West African women in the final stage of their PhD program, postdoctoral researchers, and early career academics affiliated to institutions, to participate in a research acceleration experience.

About Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship

The Queeen Elizabeth Scholarships are for students committed to creating change in their communities and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The scholarships are named in honour of Her Majesty The Queen, Head of the Commonwealth and ACU Patron, and are fully funded and supported by numerous Commonwealth governments. Requirements for Queen Elizabeth Scholarship for Early Career Women Qualification

To be considered for the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship for Advanced Scholars from Africa, applicants must meet the required criteria:

  • Applicants must be African women.
  • All applicants must be able to communicate in English or French.
  • Must be enrolled i a doctoral research, post-doctoral research or early career research.
  • Must be from an eligible West African countries.
  • Research must fall into the eligible thematic areas.
  • Applicants must be mobile and willing to travel. Travel may occur across West Africa and/or to Canada where feasible and permissible.
