MSc Trauma Sciences Scholarship by Center for Trauma Sciences

The Queen Mary University's  C4TS scholarship is open to applicants applying for the MSc Trauma Sciences or MSc Trauma Sciences (Military and Humanitarian) programmes at the university.

The scholarship is born out of the necessity that special training is needed for the management of trauma.

Trauma is one of the world’s biggest killers and is responsible for the loss of more life-years than any other disease. All countries developed and developing recognise the importance of trauma to their health care systems. Many countries are actively pursuing rationalization and specialization programmes.

War is predicted to be the sixth leading cause of death by 2020 and humanitarian disasters are rife across the world. Opportunities for the training of military trauma care specialists are extremely limited. 

With global disasters, humanitarian crises and mass casualty events on the rise, the importance of specialist training in the science and management of these events is increasingly important.

Requirements for Center for Trauma Sciences MSc Trauma Sciences

The C4TS scholarship is open to applicants applying for the MSc Trauma Sciences or MSc Trauma Sciences (Military and Humanitarian) programmes with all the following criteria:

1. The applicant must be a citizen of a low or middle income country as defined by the World Bank (includes lower-middle and upper?middle countries)
2. The applicant must work full time in a low or middle income country
3. The applicant must meet all MSc entry requirements of Queen Mary University of London
4. The applicant should submit a 1000 word essay on the burden of trauma in their own region and or country and the systems of care for managing injured patients
5. The applicant should submit a 500 word essay on how the MSc will help their education, career and injured patients in their institution or region
