NITDA 2020 Special Intervention Training for Graduates Unemployed Nigerian Youths

As part of the Agency’s efforts to develop capacity, promote local content, and create digital jobs in Nigeria, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) wishes to conduct training for unemployed graduates of tertiary institutions on IT knowledge, entrepreneurial skills and commercially viable Mobile and Web Applications. The programme will be delivered virtually for a period of Six (6) Weeks.

NITDA seeks to apply effective and sustainable solutions to build capacity and develop skills of Nigerians in emerging IT sectors and drastically reduce the unemployment rate in the IT Sector by bridging the widening skills gap in the sector. 

The Agency through its academy has developed a vocational training program with newly formed curriculums.

The IT Vocational training will play a central role in preparing young people for work, develop their skills, and respond to the labor-market’s needs.

The Agency has since 2010 established a scholarship scheme for Master's and Doctoral Degree in relevant areas of Information Technology (IT) and ICT Law obtainable in Nigerian (Government and Private) Universities.   1. Train and facilitate skill acquisition to youths by using best in class knowledge and training materials that allows them to be competitive globally (Skill Acquisition)
  2.  Enable the participants to further their careers within the web and mobile app development industries (Job Creation);
  3. Provide skills and tools for successful trainees to carry on self-development post-training, and generate income by taking their skills to market (Entrepreneurship); and
  4. Establish a knowledge economy, where digital jobs and opportunities flourish and more widely supported in the industry.
