We are excited to announce the launch of the second edition of the Nifemi Brown Foundation’s (NBF) Undergraduate Scholarship Program (NBF-USP) for Nigerian students attending Federal Universities nationwide.
This initiative empowers deserving students to achieve their academic and personal goals. By investing in talented and driven individuals, we aim to cultivate the next generation of leaders and innovators who will contribute to positive change in Nigeria and beyond.

Benefits of NBF Undergraduate Scholarship
The NBF Undergraduate Scholarship Program (NBF-USP) was created to alleviate the financial burden on students pursuing a higher education and help them nurture their potential as they demonstrate academic excellence, leadership qualities, and a commitment to community service.
Requirements for NBF Undergraduate Scholarship
1. Nationality & Residency
- Must be a Nigerian citizen
- Must currently reside in Nigeria
2. Educational Status
- Must have gained admission into a recognized Nigerian tertiary institution (Federal or State university)
- Must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program
- Open to 100 – 300 level students only
3. Academic Performance
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale or its equivalent (2:1 or higher)
- Academic transcript(s) is required for verification
4. Character and Leadership
- Must exhibit strong moral character as confirmed by a recommendation letter from a school official, religious leader, or community head
- Must show commitment to personal and community development (e.g., leadership roles, volunteering, advocacy)
Application Documents
- Valid means of identification (National ID, International Passport, or Voter’s Card)
- Admission letter or proof of studentship
- Most recent academic transcript or result
- Personal statement
- Three (3) letters of recommendation from separate entities/institutions

- Academic Transcript or Semester Result:
- Most recent semester result
- Must reflect current CGPA
- Minimum CGPA: 3.0 on a 5.0 scale (or equivalent)
- Three (3) Reference Letters:
- Each from a different reputable individual
- Must be signed, dated, and preferably on official letterhead
- Suggested referees: lecturer/course advisor, religious/community leader, mentor/supervisor
- Proof of Studentship:
- Valid student ID card
- Evidence of registration for current academic session
- Means of Identification:
- National ID, Voter’s Card, or School ID (with clear photo)
Additional Guidelines for All Applicants:
- Documents must be in PDF or JPEG format
- All scanned documents must be labelled as such: first name-last name-title of document
- Each file should not exceed 2MB
- Partial submissions will not be accepted
Prepare Required Documents
- Provide a valid means of identification (National ID, Voter’s Card, NIN or its equivalent)
- Admission letter or proof of studentship
- All academic transcripts from 100 Level to the most recent
- Clear and concisely written, error-free, coherent, and unassisted by AI (ChatGPT etc) personable personal statement
- Three letters of recommendation from separate entities/institutions. A letter of recommendation tendered from the same entity/institution attracts automatic disqualification. Each recommendation letter must be signed and dated not older than 1 month.Suggested referees: lecture/course advisor, religious/community leader, mentor/supervisor
- Recent passport-sized photograph
- All documents must be in PDF or JPEG format and not exceed 2MB per file

Submit Before the Deadline
- All applications must be submitted by June 30, 2025
- Late applications will not be accepted
Application is Free
- There is no application fee
- Do not pay anyone claiming to represent NBF
After Submission
- You will receive a confirmation email upon successful submission
- Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next stage (e.g., interview or verification)
- The selection committee’s decisions are final
