We are working to establish a scholarship in Prof I.O. Akinyele's name to indigent students in public universities studying nutrition or agriculture.

Prof. Akinyele started as an indigent student and was a first generation university graduate, along with his siblings. He was a big believer in education and tried to help as many people as possible. Nutrition is an essential part of sustainable development, yet, cannot be divorced from Agriculture, the base for food systems. Given this integration, this scholarship will be established in his name to support indigent students studying either Nutrition or Agriculture in public universities in Nigeria. These scholarships will be based on merit and need. 

In honor of the 10th year anniversary of his demise, 10 scholars will be selected from those who submit a complete application, including, the required documentation and essays. Applicants are also required to enroll in a free nutrition leadership course and respond to questions.

Requirements for Isaac Olaolu Akinyele Scholarship Program

• Open to Nigerian citizens enrolled in federal or state-owned universities in Nigeria.
• Must be studying Nutrition or Agriculture.
• Currently in the second or third year of full-time undergraduate study.
•  Maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.5 in a 5-grade system.
