Funding Opportunities at Women in News (WIN)

WAN-IFRA Women in News partners with media, industry partners and individuals to increase gender equality, diversity and inclusion in the news media. We do so in the belief that inclusive newsrooms, boardrooms and content are key to building resilient news organisations. Our programmes empower people and organisations to work together in support of a healthier, lasting and inclusive news industry. Recognising that gender is the largest of the diversity categories, with more than 50% of the world’s population identifying as women, our leadership development  programme, the WIN Leadership Accelerator,  prioritises women and non-binary individuals. Our training and advocacy work with media partners in the areas of organisational strategy, content strategy and stability encourages participation of all genders.

WAN-IFRA WIN is currently working with more than 229 news organisations and industry partners in 18 countries across Africa, the Arab Region and Southeast Asia.

Priority countries: Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe (WIN Africa); Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine (WIN Arab Region); and Myanmar, Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia (WIN Southeast Asia).

WIN is supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
