Funding Opportunities at Nigeria Solidarity Fund (NSSF)

On 27 February 2020, the first coronavirus case was confirmed in Nigeria. Indeed, the Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Health, began strengthening measures to ensure that the outbreak was controlled and contained quickly. However, with already overwhelmed health care systems and a burgeoning population, it was apparent that more support was needed to meet with the demands of the virus.

This is why the Nigeria Solidarity Fund (NSSF) was born. This partnership between Global Citizen (GC) and the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) saw the need to invest in three core COVID-19 response areas: supporting the most vulnerable, strengthening health care systems and re-skilling of Nigerian youth for The New Nigeria.

Our board believes that everyone should have access to quality and affordable healthcare services when they need it, young Nigerians should be enabled with opportunities for self empowerment and well-skilled for a post-COVID era and that the most vulnerable, disadvantaged and marginalised groups in Nigeria are not left behind.
