Competitiveness, in an increasing open global economy, requires new approaches to develop an enabling digital environment across sectors. In recent years, ITU innovation research has shown that there is a growing digital innovation divide among countries.
The Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) has developed a cross-sector and multistakeholder Digital Innovation Framework with the aim to assist countries, cities and ecosystems address today's challenges by empowering them to accelerate their digital transformation
The mission is to “bridge the digital innovation divide (gap) through strengthened ICT ecosystems that are vibrant, innovation driven and supportive of job creation, development of innovative businesses, and the growth of small and medium enterprises, as well as inclusive of all economic sectors and aligned to national development."
People are at the center of change. Our Approach is to listen to their voices and help them develop initiatives to address their needs by co-creating innovative solutions, together.
ITU aims to foster champions within ecosystems to promote innovation capacity, help accelerate socio-economic growth and inclusive development, develop synergies between ecosystems and deliver systemic impact initiatives that accelerate socio-economic transformation.
