Gabo Foundation was created by the Colombian journalist and Nobel Prize winner Gabriel García Márquez. Since 1995 we have held workshops, awards, scholarships, publications and we lead initiatives to transmit Gabo's dream of doing the best journalism in the world to new generations: an independent journalism that seeks to investigate, decipher and explain reality in a rigorous, ethical and creative way , so that citizens are better informed.  

Our mission is to promote better journalism and the stimulation of creativity, with an emphasis on the workshop method and the memory of our founder. We do it through initiatives such as the Journalism Workshop, the Gabo Festival, the Gabo Prize, the Gabo Center.
