Since 2014, Chivas has been funding and mentoring entrepreneurs who use business to tackle the world’s biggest social and environmental issues. At Chivas, they believe that blended is better – in life, in business and in Scotch – and that you don’t need to choose between making money and making the world a better place. This belief was instilled by their founding brothers, James & John Chivas, who supported their local community as their business grew in 19th century Scotland. Today, more than ever, we need to work together to build a more sustainable future for people and the planet. That’s why we launched the Chivas Venture back in 2014, a global platform to support entrepreneurs who are solving the world’s biggest social and environmental issues. Every year, we give away $1 million in no-strings funding, and expert coaching at the Chivas Venture Accelerator Programme. Over the last 5 years, we’ve received over 10,000 applications, and supported 120 startups with funding and coaching. From turning plastic waste into affordable housing, and cow manure into sustainable fashion, to tackling diabeties with agricultural waste , or lifting people out of homelessness through coffee, these startups have been redefining “business as usual” into “business as a force for good”. Collectively they have already enriched the lives of more than 2 million people in over 50 countries, across 6 continents. See our Impact Report for more details.
