Graduate Scholarship by American Concrete Institute



The ACI Foundation offers several Fellowship and undergraduate Scholarship opportunities for students of and E-Members of any nationality.
Selected students will be given by American Concrete Institute upon selection $5,000 educational stipend for tuition, residence, books, and materials; and
Appropriate recognition in Concrete International magazine and on the Foundation.

Terms and Conditions:
ACI Foundation Fellowships and Scholarships are awarded annually to help students with an interest in concrete achieve their educational and career goals.

To be awarded, the student must be considered a full-time undergraduate or graduate student as defined by the college or university during the award year. Studying- Structural Design, Materials, Construction

Applications will be accepted from anywhere in the world but study must take place in the United States or Canada during the award year.

Benefits of American Concrete Institute Graduate

Scholarship recipients will receive the following:

Requirements for American Concrete Institute Graduate

Before beginning the application, have the answers ready for these four questions.

  1. When submitting the application, what is your educational status (undergrad, grad, or PhD)?
  2. When the award year begins next fall, what will your status be (undergrad, grad, or PhD)?
  3. Following the application season, can you attend an interview at the Spring ACI Convention on March 25, 2018? Travel and hotel arrangements will be made through and paid for by the ACI Foundation.
  4. Can you fulfill a 10 to 12-week internship the summer before the award year?

During the award year, you must be a full-time student for the regular school year.

Selection Process

  1. All application materials must be received by the application deadline. Except for official transcripts, all materials are to be submitted online. No hard copies will be accepted, except official transcripts.
  2. The online application will automatically display the fellowships and scholarships for which the applicant may be qualified. Please select as many for which you wish to be considered.
  3.  Awardees will be determined during the ACI Spring Convention and Exposition. Awardees will be notified shortly after the convention.

Important Information for Fellowship Applications

  1. ACI Foundation Fellowships can be awarded to international students; however, you must attend a U.S. or Canadian university during the award year.
  2. Some of the Fellowships expect the awardee to complete a 10- to 12-week internship the summer prior to beginning the award year.
  3. Those applicants chosen as a finalist for an ACI Foundation Fellowship will be notified by February 4, 2020 and must be available to attend an interview with the Scholarship Council on Sunday, March 29, 2020, at the ACI Spring Convention. ACI Foundation will pay for the flight, hotel, registration, and will include a stipend.
  4. All applicants must be proficient in the English language. If English is not your native language, a written statement must be attached to this application attesting this proficiency.
  5. The educational stipend is paid in two equal installments over the course of one year directly to the student to cover expenses related to tuition, room and board, books, student fees, etc. Receipt of stipends is contingent upon attendance at scheduled ACI Conventions during the award year.
  6. Fellowship awardees are expected to submit a written report near the end of their fellowship period describing the value of the Fellowship to their development and to their preparation for their chosen career after graduation.

Application Documents

All applicants must submit the following five items.

  1. Personal (e.g. contact information) and educational information.
  2. A resume.
  3. A 500-word essay.
  4. Official transcripts: Read more about transcript submittal below.
  5. Two endorsements, which are statements of evaluation of the applicant, in terms of potential for growth, character, leadership capacity and career interest.

A single online application form will be used for all the fellowships and scholarships. After answering four questions, the form will automatically display the fellowships and scholarships for which you may be eligible

  2.  Resume must be in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or Acrobat Adobe (.pdf) format.
  3.  Remember to save your data during each session of the online application before closing the platform.
