University of Glasgow African Excellence Scholarships for African Students 2020-2021

The University of Glasglow is now inviting applications from qualified postgraduate African students to enrol for its 2020-2021 academic session. 8 lucky applicants out of all the students will be awarded a one-year scholarship worth the full-tuition for a Master's Programme to commence on September 2020 academic session. 

Only postgraduate students who reside in Africa and have completed a first-degree there, are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The application deadline is April 1, 2020.

Requirements for University of Glasgow Masters Scholarship Qualification

his scholarship is open to applicants from Africa applying to all on-campus Masters programmes . Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of their application for admission and must:

  1. be resident in Africa at time of applying
  2. have completed a first degree in Africa
  3. hold a conditional or unconditional offer of a place for a full-time postgraduate taught programme
  4. demonstrate academic excellence and achieve grades equivalent to a degree equivalent to a UK 1st Class Hons or better

Interview date, Process and Venue for University of Glasgow Masters Scholarship

Selection Criteria: Applicants will be automatically assessed for a scholarship based on academic merit.

Successful candidates will be advised of the outcome by 30 April 2020.

To apply for this scholarship, please submit a 500 word personal statement to [email protected]

Your personal statement must include:

  1. your full name, applicant number and clearly state that you are applying for the University of Glasgow African Excellence Fee Waiver
  2. why you have selected the programme at the University of Glasgow
  3. why you merit the funded place (e.g academic/personal achievement)
  4. how you will benefit from it (e.g. employment prospects, financial relief, etc).
