Erasmus Mundus 2021-2023 Master Program in Plant Breeding (emPLANT+) Scholarships for International Students

Following the emPLANT program, the new Erasmus Mundus emPLANT+ has been newly funded by the European Commission from September 2020 to August 2026.

emPLANT+ starts with a preparation year and is about to welcome its first students from academic year 2021-2022. Then 4 intakes of students will be funded.

Even if it is the continuity of emPLANT, there are some important changes in the new emPLANT+ program.

The objective of emPLANT is to remedy to the lack of qualified highly skilled plant breeders on Master and PhD level with a training program that combines science, management, law, intercultural competence and language skills.

Erasmus Mundus Masters Scholarship Courses

Requirements for Erasmus Mundus Masters Scholarship

If you are interested in applying for the Erasmus+ Master Programme in Plant Breeding, please check if you meet the requirements below:

  1. Awarded Bachelor of Science degree (min. 180 ECTS) in Agriculture/Agronomy, Plant Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Master 1 Genetics, Molecular Biosciences or related relevant fields
  2. OR students in their last Bachelor year
  3. Language proficiency:
    1. B2 in English except when English is your mother tongue. If not, please provide one of the following documents:
      1. Official English test:
        1. TOEIC: minimum 785 points
        2. IELTS: minimum 6.0
        3. TOEFL: 577 paper-based, 233 computer-based, 90 internet-based (20 written)
        4. Cambridge: Certificate of Advanced English
        5. etc…
      2. Or a University letter attesting English is the medium of instruction of your higher education
    2. Spanish: for those applying to UPV in year 2, a level B1 is needed by the beginning of the second year (not required at the time of application). Official test: DELE, ALTE, etc…
  4. Application received before the end of the deadline
  5. Application form filled out in English
  6. Application containing all requested elements and documents

Application Documents

If you meet all requirements and want to apply to emPLANT, the following list of documents will have to be attached to the application in a PDF format:

  1. Copy of your diploma(s) / degree(s) certificate(s) (add an English translation if applicable) or enrolled certificate from your university (for last year students)
  2. Copy of transcript of records for your whole degree and a grading scale (add an English translation if applicable)
  3. Copy of official language certificate attesting language skills in English and Spanish if applicable
  4. Curriculum Vitae in a European format
  5. Passport (or valid ID document)
  6. Proof of current and exact place of residence (see requirements below)
  7. Two recommendation letters (no specific format)
  8. Declaration on honor (download template)
  9. Other document you consider relevant for the application

Interested and qualified? Go to Erasmus Mundus on inscription.unilasalle.fr to apply
  1. Before applying, make sure to go through the emPLANT+ website and in particular the “Programme”, “Fees/Scholarship” and “How to apply” tabs in order to have a good overview of the emPLANT Master’s Degree.
  2. When applying, make sure to have all necessary documents you must upload during the online application. The list of compulsory documents is available here.
  3. The link to the online application is available here. Each question of the form is important and the answer must be different from a question to another.
  4. Be careful, should any of the mandatory documents be corrupted/damaged/illegible/absent or wrong, the application will be rejected without any possibility of appeal.
