University of Cambridge Graduate International Scholarship Scheme UK 2019-2020

The University of Cambridge; the Cambridge Trust is inviting application for the Cambridge international awards to pursue PhD studies for 2019-2020 academic year. International students who meet the required eligibility are advised to apply.

The aim of the Cambridge international awards is to ensure that the 250 highest ranked students, irrespective of nationality, receive full financial support to undertake research leading to a PhD.

The Cambridge Commonwealth, European & International Trust was established on 1 August 2013 from the merger of the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and the Cambridge Overseas Trust. These were established as charities by the University of Cambridge in the 1980s in order to provide financial support for international students on degree courses at Cambridge. Aim and Benefits of University of Cambridge PhD Scholarship

The scholarship will award full financial support to undertake research leading to a PhD.


Requirements for University of Cambridge PhD Scholarship Qualification

The requirements specified in this section are the minimum requirements for graduate admission to the University. Some departments may impose higher academic or language requirements. Please consult the Course Directory for full information on each course requirement.

If you are from an English-speaking country, there are three key requirements:

  1. Academic  Evidence of completing a degree that meets the University Minimum Requirements
  2. Financial  Evidence that you are aware of how much funding will be required for your course, and that you have made plans to provide that amount
  3. College Membership  You must apply for College membership as part of the application process
  4. Additionally, if you are not from an English-speaking country or have not studied in one recently, you will also be required to demonstrate competence in the English language. Documents Required for Application

Your application is not complete without the required supporting documentation which must be submitted through the Applicant Portal as part of your application. If the supporting documents, including references are not provided your application will not be considered, and your application will be withdrawn when the course deadline has passed.

Please check your course's entry to see what supporting documents you will be required to submit. For more information on what the specific requirements of each document are, and how to submit them, please see the section on Supporting Documentation.

How to Apply

Interested and qualified? Go to University of Cambridge on apply.graduate.study.cam.ac.uk to apply
  1. You should thoroughly research your prospective course, its requirements, deadlines and course costs in the Course Directory before you think about completing and submitting the online application form.
  2. Make sure you are clear on the separate Application and funding deadlines.
  3. Check that you have the relevant required supporting documents (eg transcripts, CV etc) in pdf format ready to upload.
  4. For your academic referees, you should ensure you have their consent before you apply and have the correct email address for each (preferably an institutional email address). Applicants can request references before the submission of their application and should do so as early as possible.
  5. You should review the college information, and decide if you have a preference for up to colleges to consider your application.
