University of Bologna 2021 Study Grants for International Students - Italy

The University of Bologna offers to deserving international students who wish to register for First Cycle, Second Cycle or Single Cycle Degree Programmes at the University of Bologna for A.Y. 2021/22

In order to obtain the renewal you must apply by the deadlines set in the call for applications, be in possession of the requirements set in the call for applications and be placed among the winners in the ranking list. Renewals are not awarded automatically.

Benefits of University of Bologna Masters Scholarship

  1. For First Cycle and Single Cycle degree programmes: 3 study grants worth € 11.059 each (Unibo Action 2) and full tuition fee waivers for a total amount of €20,000 (Unibo Action 1)
  2. For Second Cycle degree programmes: 16 study grants worth €11.059 each (Unibo Action 2) and full tuition fee waivers for a total amount of €100.000 (Unibo Action 1)
  3. Each Unibo Action 2 study grants are awarded for one academic year only and amounts to a total of €11.059, gross of all charges for the beneficiary’s account.
  4. Each Unibo Action 1 full tuition waivers are awarded for one academic year only. Students who are awarded the waivers must pay €157.6

The Scholarship/grant entails;

  1. study grants of €11,000 gross (Unibo Action 2);
  2. tuition fee waivers (Unibo Action 1).

The study grants and the tuition fee waivers are assigned on the basis of SAT and GRE, and some TOLC tests, for one academic year.

Requirements for University of Bologna Masters Scholarship

Application is open exclusively to candidates who:

  1. Possess qualifications for admission to the chosen First, Single, or Second Cycle degree programme issued by an institution outside of the Italian education system or in an Italian institute outside Italy, after at least two years of attendance. If the qualification for admission is a one-year title, the prior qualification will be considered too. Qualifications issued by institutions of the Republic of San Marino do not satisfy this condition. The applicant’s citizenship is not considered;
  2. Meet the admission requirements for the chosen degree programme or will meet such requirements at the time of registration;
  3. Are not current students at the University of Bologna for First, Single or Second Cycle degree programmes. Important! Those whose student career (First, Single or Second Cycle degree programme) ended within A.Y. 2019-20 for any reason are not considered students. Withdrawals from studies must have been completed before the publication of this call;
  4. Have not already benefited from the Unibo Action 2 study grant or from the Unibo Action 1 waiver;
  5. Are not 30 years or older as of the deadline of the call.

Call for applications Unibo Actions 1&2 – TOLC (for students who are interested in registering in a First or Single Cycle Degree Programme)

  1. Publication of the call for applications: February 2021
  2. Applications deadline: May 2020
  3. Publication of results: June 2021

Call for applications Unibo Actions 1&2 – GRE (for students who are interested in registering in a Second Cycle Degree Programme)

  1. Publication of the call for applications: 28 January 2021 at 12.00 CET
  2. Applications deadline: 31 March 2021 at 12.00 CET
  3. Publication of results: April 2021

The application must be submitted exclusively through Studenti Online.

Applications must be submitted by 31 March 2021 (Second Cycle Programmes) or 30 April 2021 (First or Single Cycle Programmes), exclusively through Studenti Online, as explained in the call for applications.
