MasterCard Foundation Masters Scholarship Program at University of Pretoria for African Students 2019

The University of Pretoria (UP) and its partner the Mastercard Foundation (MCF) is offering scholarships to eligible African Students who can not fund themselves in furthering their education but wish to pursue their Masters program.
The scholarship is for high accomplishing African Students interested in studying at postgraduate levels and are ready to start the program in January 2020 in any of the following courses:
- Economic and Management Sciences
- Engineering
- International Studies
- Natural and Agricultural Sciences
- Political Studies
To qualify for the scholarship you must be an African Student from any African country, must be a first-time applicant to the university and have already applied for a full-time postgraduate admission into any of the eligible programs.

Benefits of Mastercard Foundation Masters Scholarship
A Postgraduate applicant who meets the MasterCard Foundation Scholarship Program at the University of Pretoria will benefit from:
- A fully paid tuition fees at the duration of the study.

Mastercard Foundation Masters Scholarship Courses
Requirements for Mastercard Foundation Masters Scholarship
- Be African Students with any African country citizenship.
- Must be the first-time applicant to the university.
- Have Already applied for a full-time postgraduate admission into any of the eligible programs.
- You have completed your Bachelor degree in your home country.
- The applicant has to be a citizen outside of the SADC Region.
- You must be willing certain to contribute to the change of the continent through your knowledge, abilities, perspectives, and also values shown by your management.
Accepted Faculty Programs:
- Natural and Agricultural Sciences
- Economic and Management Sciences
- Humanities for entry into the Honours or Masters (Political Studies or International Studies only)
- Engineering – continuing students are eligible to apply
Application Documents
- Your admission letter from the College of Pretoria.
- Bachelor degree and your Official Transcript.
- Your family payslip, economic statements, or pension bill of at least 3 months old.
- Provide your Guardian, spouse or applicant’s source of income.
- If no evidence of income or if jobless. An affidavit by law must be submitted.
- Certificate of Marriage for a married couple.
- Other required documents can be found on the scholarship application form.

Follow these steps below :
Step 1
- Search for any of your preferred postgraduate courses in the above-listed faculty.
- Apply and submit your online application using this page
- After you have completed and submitted your online application, a student number (EMPLID) will be emailed to you.
- You will be required to provide this student number (EMPLID) during your scholarship application.
- You must submit your online application for admission on or before 31 August 2019.
Step 2.
- Download the scholarship application form (PDF), Print it and fill it appropriately
- Scan it and send the filled form to [email protected]
- Submit all your documents and the scanned copy on or before the deadline.
