Applications are open for the Kreative Diadem Annual Creative Writing Contest 2020. The contest is Kreative Diadem’s way of celebrating creativity, originality and everything in between. The 2020 edition has two genres: Poetry and Flash fiction.

Poetry: They love the way poems leave a trace of emotions everywhere. They are words that pierce the soul just to drop a message and even leave some eyes misty. It’s not compulsory to write like Shakespeare, they only need you to provoke their thoughts.

Flash Fiction: Writers live twice because even when they are no more, their stories do the talking for them. They love wickedly suspenseful fiction with twists here and there. Tell them a unique story, make us believe it’s true and go home with a cash prize.

The winners in the Poetry and Flash fiction categories will get the following prizes:

1. 1st Prize – N30,000
2. 2nd Prize – N15,000
3. 3rd Prize – N5,000

Requirements for Kreative Diadem Creative Writing Contest

1. Open to Nigerian residents alone.
2. You must be 21 years or younger as at December 2020. Candidates older than this age will be disqualified automatically.

Submission Guidelines

1. The submitted work must be unpublished before submission.
2. The maximum amount of words for the flash fiction category is 1, 500 words.
3. For the poetry category, all poems must have a title.
4. Poems should be original and should not exceed 40 lines.
5. Every contestant is entitled to only ONE category.
6. Please attach the entry itself as an MS-Word file. Save the MS-Word file in this format – “Full Name – Title of Entry”
7. Format your work as follows: Times New Roman, font 12.

Selection Process

1. DECEMBER 14, 2020: Announcement of the Top Six in Each Category
2. DECEMBER 21, 2020: Announcement of the Winners in Each Category
