The University of British Columbia hereby offers its annual need -and- merit-based International Leader of Tomorrow (ILOT) Undergraduate Scholarship Award, to international undergraduate students who show superior academic achievement, leadership skill, involvement in student affairs and community service, recognized achievement in fields of endeavour such as the performing arts, sports, debating or creative writing, or external academic competitions and examinations.
This scholarship is open to international undergraduate students applying to study a first degree in Canada, who have little or no means of financing their studies at the University of British Columbia. The financial needs of the students will be funded by the Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award program, by summing up the tuition fees and living costs, and subtracting the financial contribution their family can make each year. A standard needs assessment is based on the financial information provided by them and their family.
The scholarship can last up to three additional years of undergraduate study, or to degree completion, provided the student continues to achieve satisfactory academic standing in their faculty, has a constant need for financial assistance, and maintains their Canadian study permit (visa).Table of Content
