International Day of the Girl Child MTN mPulse Essay Competition 2019

This year, as a way to celebrate 2019 International Day of The Girl Child, MTN opens its doors to all Primary and Secondary School students in Nigeria to participate in a short essay competition.  

The essay competition which is aimed towards the empowerment of the girl child is in line with the theme of this year's celebration GirlForce: Unscripted and Unstoppable.

Topic:

In what ways can the Nigerian girl be empowered to become unstoppable?

The essay provides an opportunity for young Nigerian students to discuss the empowerment of the girl child in Nigeria, and bright Nigerian students are encouraged to participate in this essay as their voices could be that of change.

Requirements for MTN Foundation Secondary School

1. Competition is open to both boys and girls in primary and secondary schools in Nigeria
2. Applicants must be resident in Nigeria
3. Essay must not exceed 200 words
4. 10 winning essays will be selected and exciting gift items will be awarded to the winners. Gift items include smartphones, mPulse school bags, headphones, t-shirts, math sets, water bottles, etc.

Selection Process

Winners will be announced on 11th October, 2019.
