i-FAIR Israel-Nigeria 2020-2021 Innovation Fellowship for Aspiring Inventors and Researchers

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform qualified Nigerians of the Innovation Fellowship for Aspiring Inventors and Researchers (i-FAIR) program organised by the Embassy of the State of Israel in Nigeria, in collaboration with the Office of the Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Skill-G Nigeria Ltd, Gregory University Uturu, Abia State and DeNovo-Israel, Ltd.

The i-Fair program is an initiative aimed at raising a generation of innovators, inventors, and researchers in Nigeria by offering them a platform to transform their ideas into innovative solutions and launch their entrepreneurial dreams in the following fields:

  1. Agriculture & Food Security
  2.  Renewable Energy/Environmental Management
  3. Food Technology
  4. Medical Devices/Simulation
  5. Social Responsibility

i-FAIR 2020/21 commences on 1 st November 2020, and will include:

  1. A 3 days skills development and interactive session with the mentors and co-participants at the Skill “G” Innovation Center, Abuja.
  2. Sixty (60) hour “Introduction to Entrepreneurship” course, during which participants will work at the Innovation Center to develop their ideas, projects, and prototypes.
  3. A 3-day Grand Finale Experts/Investors Panel (“Sharks” format) Event; where participants will present their projects and prototypes.

Benefits of -FAIR Israel-Nigeria Innovation Fellowship

Successful applicants are entitles to the following benefits, free of charge:

  1. A unique platform to transform ideas into inventions and develop working prototypes;
  2. Free access and membership to a modern innovation center where they can work on and develop their ideas;
  3. Access to a special certificate-course and mentoring by accomplished inventors, innovators, and researchers from Nigeria and the State of Israel;
  4. The opportunity to enter “MassChallenge Israel, 2021”;
  5. The opportunity to pitch inventions and prototypes to investors for possible adoption, patronage and partnership;
  6. An all-expense paid visit to the State of Israel, for inventors with the best prototypes and chance for a Proof of Concept (POC) collaboration opportunity with leading Israeli companies.

Requirements for -FAIR Israel-Nigeria Innovation Fellowship

  1. You must be a citizen of Nigeria
  2. You must be 21 years and above
  3. You must hold a degree from a tertiary institution
  4. You must be smart, innovative and motivated
  5. You must have an innovative project you are working on, in one or more of the following fields
    1. Agriculture and Food Security
    2. Food Technology, Renewable
    3. Energy/Environmental Management
    4. Medical Devices/Simulation
    5. Social Responsibility/Solution for the Physically Challenged.

The deadline for submission of applications is Saturday, 31st October, 2020. Successful applicants will attend a three-day course from 1st-3rd December, 2020, at the Innovation Center in Abuja.
