The United Nations Volunteers(UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. The English language component of the Indigenous Fellowship Programme (IFP) was established in 1997. It takes place at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva, Switzerland and lasts for 4 weeks, usually coinciding with the annual meeting of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (EMRIP). 1 Volunteer living allowance that shall cover basic expenses:
2 Travel expenses:
3 Settling-in-grant,which is calculated on the duration of the assignment and paid at the beginning of the assignment;
4 Life,health and permanent disability insurances;
5 Annual leave;
6 Resettlement allowance,which is calculated based on the duration of the assignment and paid upon satisfactory completion of the assignment.
1 Between the ages of 18 to 55;
2 Have at least two years of relevant work experience in a professional background;
3 Fluent in English,Spanish or French.
