The 2025 call for internship seeks to leverage evidence-based research in the Nigerian agricultural sector to support policy review and formulation, particularly on climate change and food security. As a result, EERC is inviting qualified candidates for an internship. This year’s call for internship opportunities will support early career scientists to conduct research in any of the following thematic areas:

• Climate change and food security
• Climate-smart agriculture, carbon markets, and green finance
• Agricultural value chain, Food loss, and food waste

Successful applicants will receive the following as personal benefits:

• Monthly stipend depending on experience and academic qualifications through the internship period.
• Access to EERC’s research facilities and team of experts
• Paid accommodation within EERC facilities

Requirements for EERC Internship

To be considered for this internship, applicants must:

• Hold at least a BSc degree or MSc degree in Agricultural Science, Agricultural Economics, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or Climate Change, with no more than five years post-graduation experience.
• Demonstrate strong interest in research, policy, or field-based project implementation
• Be available for the full duration of the three-month internship
• Possess good communication, analytical, and writing skills
• Be willing to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary research team
• Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Interested candidates should submit the following:

• A one-page cover letter detailing your motivation and area(s) of interest
• A current CV highlighting relevant academic and/or professional experience
• Scanned copy of MSc certificate (or statement of result)
• A research proposal attainable in 3 months. Please include the timeline for your research.
