Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarships 2022 for Young African Leaders

The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens is accepting applications for the 2022 Global Citizen Scholarships. In 2022, the Ban Ki-moon Centre will select 15 young African global citizen leaders for the program who are passionate about taking action for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular for SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).

Scholars will attend the University of Bordeaux’s Summer School on “Sustainable African Cities” and additional special skills trainings with MCI the Entrepreneurial University.

The selected scholars will also be responsible for proposing and implementing their own SDG Micro-Project in their community during the scholarship period (May – December 2022). SDG Micro-Projects are localized projects addressing one or more of the SDGs in a given community and context. Scholars will receive a 500€ seed grant to support their project and will receive project management training and guidance throughout the project proposal and implementation process.

*Please kindly note that the Scholarship Program will be held in an entirely virtual format.
