Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG) Masters Scholarships for Nigerian and Ghanian Students Oxford University 2020-2021

The Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG) Scholarships Programme  is inviting application for its scholarship award for Nigerian and Ghanian students, the scholarship is targeted at graduates between the ages of 25 and 35, some of whom may have work experience. The scholars will be exceptionally intelligent graduates who have excelled academically as well as in other areas of their lives.

About Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG)

Every year, Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG) will fund five scholarships for outstanding individuals from Nigeria and Ghana to pursue the Master of Public Policy degree at the Blavatnik School of Government (BSG), University of Oxford. AIG Masters Scholarship


Aim and Benefits of AIG Masters Scholarship

The scholarship will cover:

  1. Full tuition fees
  2. Accomodation fees
  3. Living expenses

Requirements for AIG Masters Scholarship Qualification

  1. You must be a citizen of Nigeria or Ghana
  2. You must be between the ages of 25 and 35 years (must not be 36 years old by December 31, 2019)
  3. You must have a first-class or second-class upper undergraduate degree with honours (or equivalent international qualifications), as a minimum, in any discipline. For applicants with a degree from the USA, the minimum GPA sought is 3.7 out of 4.0
  4. Preferably Top 10% of graduating class (First, Second or Master’s Degree) - evidence to be provided.
  5. Possess evidence of game-changing leadership and resultant impact
  6. Possess evidence of skills and interests outside academics

Interview date, Process and Venue for AIG Masters Scholarship

  1. Academic distinction & Leadership potential are key priorities for the selection and candidates will be required to present evidence of skills and achievements indicated.
  2. A Master’s, Second Degree or Relevant Professional Qualification will be an advantage
  3. Demonstrated leadership capabilities and resultant impact
  4. Impeccable moral character
