The UCL Institute of Education (IOE), United Kingdom and its partner the International Students House (ISH), offers the Centenary Doctoral Scholarship to international (non-UK and non-EU) doctoral students in developing countries scholarship to study for 2019/2020 academic session at the institute.

Benefits of UCL Institute of Education (IOE) PhD Scholarship

For the Postgraduate Student Award, the IOE covers the student's tuition fees and stipend for one year of full-time Master's level study. The IOE Fulbright award is an exceptionally prestigious distinction, and attracts a world-class field of candidates.

For the Distinguished Teacher Award, successful candidates receive a Fulbright grant to cover their flights, accommodation and food for the duration of the programme. The IOE provides academic mentoring and a range of practical support.

Requirements for UCL Institute of Education (IOE) PhD Scholarship

Candidates should:

  • be citizens and residents of a low or middle income country with a GNI not higher than $8000 per capita (as per the World Bank GNI per capita classification tables)
  • have an offer to study a full time Master's degree in London at the UCL Institute of Education (October 2019 start)
  • not have studied or lived in the UK before.

Please note that online courses are not eligible for these scholarships.

Applicants for a Masters degree who are not holding an offer at the time of the scholarship deadline will not be eligible for this scholarship.

Eligible offer holders will receive an email with details of how to apply for this scholarship. If you have an offer to study an MPhil/PhD at the UCL Institute of Education (October 2019 start) and you have not received this email, but you are from an eligible country, please contact [email protected] with details of your full name and student ID number.
