Masters Scholarship by Institute of African Worlds (IMAF)
Be part of a unique transnational MA & PhD experience in which you graduate from two prestigious universities in Africa and Europe. Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia and Leipzig University in Germany jointly offer a two year MA program AND a three year PhD Program that takes Africa at its heart. Get immersed in an interdisciplinary and intercultural
environment that provides you with knowledge and skills required on a global job market. The program takes place in Addis Ababa, the political capital of Africa and includes an organized semester at Leipzig University, center of excellence for research on processes of globalization and area studies.

About Institute of African Worlds (IMAF)
The Institute of African Worlds (IMAF) is an interdiscliplinary research unit (medieval and modern history, anthropology, political science, archeology) working all over the Africas. It was created on January 1st, 2014, from the Center for African World Studies (CEMAf), the Center for African Studies (CEAf) and the Center for Social History of Mediterranean Islam (CHSIM).

IMAF Masters Scholarship
Aim and Benefits of IMAF Masters Scholarship
- 1.800 € per term
- Applicants are encouraged to seek financial support / a scholarship from sources such as government institutions, employers, donor institutions or non-governmental organisation
- Partial DAAD scholarships and fee waivers are possible depending the study results
Requirements for IMAF Masters Scholarship Qualification
They are looking for talented students who finished their first academic degree (Bachelor) in social science, political science, history, international relations, law, humanities and economics with good or very good results. Students applying for this programme should have an interest in peace and security and global affairs.
